Azalea + Jett was Featured on Refinery29!!

Can

Can you believe it?? I didn't believe it until I actually saw it on Refinery29! Someone told me one of my phone cases was featured on there, but I was in shock so I had to see it to believe it. I was so so excited that I didn't even know what to do. I must have been smiling from ear to ear! I am so honored to be featured in Refinery29's best of Etsy in the Bay. I hope to featured again so it motivates me to try harder and make even more designs that I hope people will love! Click here to see the feature!

To see other phone cases go to the Azalea + Jett Etsy!

Polka Dot Chambray

Left - Old Navy // Middle - Gap (sold out) // Right - J. Crew

I have been lusting for a polka dot chambray button-up for months! The problem is that I can't find the perfect fit. I have looked high and low and I just can't find the one.  I tried on the Old Navy one, but found that the fit was too baggy for what I was looking for and I wanted one with bigger polka dots. The Gap chambray is sold out so I wasn't even able to try it on. I haven't been to a J.Crew lately so I haven't tried that on either, but I'm hoping I find a nice one soon. Have you found one you love?

Dripping Lips Illustration and iPhone case

This is one of my personal favorite illustrations that I've done. I was inspired by a MAC makeup artist on Instagram names Loreleicakes and she is one of the best makeup artists I've ever seen! This is available as an 8 x 10 print or for an iPhone 4/4s or iPod touch case. This is the link to purchase on the Azalea + Jett Etsy shop! I will try to be better at posting my newest illustrations on here. :)

So Happy To Be Back!!

I know I took a very long break from blogging, but I PROMISE it was for a good reason. I started drawing again. It may not sound like a big reason, but I was so inspired once I started that I could not stop. As a result, I opened up an Etsy shop. This is something I have been wanting to do for SO LONG, but I never had the time to draw for fun. In college, I studied architecture, industrial design, and finally changed it to (and stuck with) Design and Management. It was the perfect combination of two things I love; design and business. For those of you that don't know, I graduated from Arizona State University. If I wasn't busy with homework, I was at work, so as you can imagine, I didn't really know what it felt like to have free time.

So let me tell you more about my shop. I am inspired by so many different things that I can't draw just one subject. As you can see, I have girls, lips, Eiffel towers, deer, bugs, and Frida Kahlo. Each illustration is $18.

I have MORE good news! I'm adding iPhone cases to my shop! They will feature my drawings on the back of an iPhone case for only $16.95!! I will also add the option of selling my prints framed.

If these aren't good enough reasons for why I have been absent on the blog, I don't know what are. :) I am looking forward to writing more on the blog again!

xoxo Stephanie

If I could have this outfit made...

...I would be happy. If I can't have it, at least I could illustrate it. It's hard to find the perfect cheetah or leopard print and to me, this is the perfect print for a silk blouse. The trousers would have little black bows embroidered on them and would be available in a variety of colors with the bows to match. The shoes are inspired by the ones I loved in this Wishlist Wednesday Zara high heels post.

Snake Charmer

Something has taken over me that has made me obsess over anything that includes snake print. These three options, are all easy ways to enhance your outfit. The pencil skirt is a great staple, but make it python, such as the one shown by Tracy Reese and it has a completely new vibe about it. Where I will be working soon, it is required that we wear dark colors, but with any color shoes and shirt, which gives me a lot of liberty. I don't usually like to wear dark colors, but this is the dress code, so what can I do? The Rachel Zoe 'Kelsey' High Wedge are so amazing and since wedges are trés comfortable, they would be perfect for anyone who has to walk a lot, whether it be a night out, or just at work. If you want something to carry your stuff in, the Anya Hindmarch Bruton Python and Leather Tote is a great choice because it's roomy and just the right size!

Wishlist Wednesday: Neon!!

Proenza Schouler PS1 Pochette Python

I don't know if its the weather or the fact that everyone wears dark colored outfits when it's cold, but neon colors seem extra fun right now! I'm craving color and want a pop of neon in every outfit! If you're skeptical about this trend, maybe try a bracelet or necklace, but if not, go all out with a neon dress or jacket like the 3.1 Phillip Lim Sleeveless Tank Dress, Neon Yellow J Brand Pants, or the Christopher Kane Neon Lace Jacket. I think the BaubleBar Neon Colorblock Collar or the BaubleBar Acrylic Monogram are great pieces to have anyway, aside from neon being a trend right now. How great would Rebecca Minkoff Bettina Flat Sandals, Gap Neon City Flats, and
Proenza Schouler PS1 Pochette Python look with ANY outfit?

Alexander McQueen Vogue April 2012 Illustration

I illustrated this Alexander McQueen dress based on an advertisement I saw in Vogue April 2012. I've always admired how fashion forward, and a bit risky, Alexander McQueen has been with the brand. Since the late Alexander passed away, Sarah Burton has done a remarkable job as creative director of Alexander McQueen. I hope you like my interpretation of the dress. :)

March Birchbox!!

If you haven't heard of Birchbox you're missing out! For $10 a month, you receive a cute box in the mail containing several beauty products to try. This is the third Birchbox I've received and I have always been really pleased with everything I get. I tend to be pretty basic with my beauty routine so learning about new products is exciting to me. Sometimes you even get a bonus box, like last month. Aside from my normal Birchbox, I also received a box of Vichy products, a skincare line from France. This month I had the option of receiving a regular Birchbox or a special Teen Vogue version. Since I follow Eva Chen on Twitter I knew I would get good stuff. Eva Chen is Teen Vogue's beauty editor.

This month, I received an Essie nail polish, Kate Spade New York Twirl perfume sample, Kerastase, Tarte, and a Twistband. Essie is a beloved nail polish brand and they always have great colors to choose from. I received a gold glitter polish. The Twirl perfume by Kate Spade New York smelled lovely. I haven't tried Kerastase yet, but it is a hair oil to "hydrate, smooth, and sleekify your strands." I can't wait to try that. Tarte is a lip tint that is supposed to add extra moisture to your lips and I really like the color of it and its mintyness. Lastly, Twistband is a hair tie that, according to their website, doesn't leave creases in your hair. I have long, thick hair so it doesn't leave creases, but it isn't stretchy or tight enough to hold all of my hair up.

Overall, I was very happy with my Birchbox this month.
I always look forward to receiving them in the mail, because it's almost like a surprise present every month! Plus, you never know what you're going to get until you open it.

To sign up for Birchbox, follow this link.

My Digital Fashion Illustration: Doutzen Kroes

I've always been infatuated by digital art, as well as fashion illustration but with school and work, it was hard to find the time. Now that I graduated college, its nice to have more free time. This illustration of Doutzen Kroes was based on a photoshoot for VMAN magazine. Enjoy. :)

Nike Free Run+ 3 & iD !!!!!

Tomorrow, is the day!! On March 5th, 2012, Nike is releasing their newest and third model of the Nike Free Run+. The Free Run+ 1's were extremely comfortable to run in, and the Free Run+ 2's were the exact same, if not better. I can't wait to get my hands on a couple of pairs of the Free 3's. The third model are my favorite when it comes to looks and styling of the overall shoe. In my opinion, the overall shape on the 3's is better then the 2's. Especially since the toe area of the outsole is half-colored to match the upper.  This also eliminates the "elf-toe" effect the 2's had.

The 2's are great, especially the aesthetics of the double cage area, but their downfall is that they're extremely flimsy.  I know this is partly by design, but they could have benefited from a bit more substance.

I have yet to hold the 3's in my hand, but the heel seems to be less concave than that of the 2's, meaning that there seems to be some sort of heel counter in the back to add a little bit of stability. Aside from the volt colored DF strap on every pair, the different colorways look great, with the yellow pair being my favorite. Lastly, with more slits in the outsole, the gaps between the "teeth" of the outsole seem to be narrower, improving the side look of the shoe. There are multiple colorways for women and men, including red, royal, purple, and yellow will go on sale starting tomorrow with a retail price of $100.

Also, the Nike Free Run+ 3 is available to customize with Nike iD. Various colors are available to use and I couldn't help myself from personalizing a pair! The price on personalizing a pair is $130. (see more pictures)

Sitting on the Wild Side

These chairs are truly a work of art! They are by MAXIMO RIERA and aside from the Rhino, Octopus, and Walrus, they have a Beetle, Lion, and Whale on the way! I am so excited to see those and will be sure to post when pictures become available. For now, here are these beauties to marvel at.

These Zara methacrylate heels are to die for!
I would do anything (well not anything) for these shoes. I've been looking for the perfect black heels and these are definitely it. I love everything about them and they can be purchased at Zara.com.

I also love these! They can be purchased on Zara.com as well. Decisions, decisions.
